I only got a valid CD-key much later because a friend offered me the game as a birthday gift. I could sometimes connect to official servers and those were happy times. I played exclusively in no-cd-key servers, because I did not buy the game (yes I am cheapo). And the music and sound effects were great, I remember getting pumped up just listening to the music when joining a server. The ability to drive vehicles and the big maps with lots of players was amazing. The moment I started to play Battlefield 1942, I got hooked immediately. I was downloading lots of pirated games and decided to try out this WW2 game, since it is my favorite time of history. I had not played any Wake Demo or Secret Weapons Demo, back then.
